Neve Campbell, famed for her role as Sidney Prescott, is set to return to the ‘Scream’ franchise for its seventh film. This news comes after Campbell stepped away from the series over payment disagreements.
Campbell announced her comeback on Instagram, sharing her joy at playing Sidney once more, a character that has been a significant part of her acting career.
In an unexpected move, Kevin Williamson, creator of the original ‘Scream’ movies, will direct ‘Scream VII’. Williamson, who has written for the series before, is thrilled to be directing Campbell in the upcoming film.
The screenplay for the new movie will be crafted by Guy Busick, with James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein producing. The group known as Radio Silence, who worked on the previous two films, will be executive producers.
Campbell’s return follows a standoff over her salary for ‘Scream 6’, which she felt didn’t match her value to the franchise. Williamson supported Campbell’s stance during the dispute.
